INTRODUCTION

We are a firm of Architects with over 46 years experience in designing documenting and contract administration (construction services) of residential subdivision, residential design including large, medium and small density residential developments, single houses, alterations and additions as well as commercial and light industrial architecture.

A practice comprising two generations of Architects, our firm has a fresh, innovative and professional attitude to all its commissions, combining experience, expertise and responsibility with responsiveness, originality and an element of youthfulness.

Our approach to every project reflects a commitment to design excellence and technical innovation and we believe that it is the role of the Architect to provide a quality of life for the end users. We aim to achieve this by working together with the client to produce a thoroughly harmonious and functional result and to create an architectural environment that all occupants will enjoy experiencing.   • Extensively researching any relevant history relating to the site.
  • Assessment of the physical and cultural constraints and opportunities.
  • Assessment of orientation and solar access and implementing an energy efficient design approach.
  • Development of the clients brief to establish all requirements, functionally, aesthetically and financially.
  • Working closely with the Local Council and other relevant authorities.
  • Implementing our professional expertise related to the type of development required.

Architectural Design Quality

Our team has been involved in a wide range of projects appropriate to this submission, including extensive experience in medium density residential projects in many local government areas in Sydney as well as Gosford and Wyong Shire Council’s on the central coast. We offer 50 years of experience in Architectural Design including, Medium and High Density Residential work, Private homes, Industrial and Commercial Refurbishment, Heritage work and Aged care facilities.

A recent heritage refurbishment project has been sited for a commendation by The Randwick Historical society and Cyril Smith recently received an Australia Day Award for services in Architecture and Building from the Mayor of Waverley.

Ability to meet programme

We have a consistent record over 50 years of meeting design and construction deadlines, whilst maintaining a high quality of design. Much of our work is in the Eastern Suburbs, which is a highly developer orientated market. In this market situation there are constant pressures and time constraints applied by the very nature of a speculative marketplace. It is the specific aim of our team to meet time frame requirements of the project whilst achieving high quality design and documentation.

The ultimate aim lies in the ability to effectively meet time restraints and functional requirements whilst raising the bar for design excellence.

Recent documentation of the Retail Premises in the Meriton Bondi Junction interchange project reinforced our abilities to meet a very tight deadline.

EXPERIENCE AND EXPERTISE IN PREPARATION and

SUBMISSION OF DEVELOPMENT APPLICATIONS

To submit design and construct most projects it necessary to submit plans and documentation as a Development Application to the relevant local authority.

CSA have been successfully preparing Development Applications over the past 46 years.

It is necessary to keep up to date with the ever changing nature of Council codes and to understand how to embrace them when preparing a Development Application. CSA have extensive experience working with Local Councils and other relevant authorities on behalf of clients during the Development Application process. In doing so, CSA Architects have developed good working relations with many local Councils and possess a high level of expertise in this field.

As much of our work is geared towards the speculative developer orientated market, one of our strengths is providing our clients with the right type of product for the market place. This requires a thorough understanding of market requirements in a given area and we design accordingly. To this end, CSA is highly experienced in designing very ‘saleable’ buildings. Testimony to this is the speed in which our clients sell their developments as well as the amount of ‘repeat work’ we generate with units selling very quickly and at premium prices, often breaking new sales records for their respective areas. It is this value added service that will help you maximise the return on your investment. In most cases, Council negotiations are conducted by CSA Architects on behalf of the client.
